4. Estimates & Agreements

  • All estimates are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated
  • Estimates are based on visible conditions at the time of inspection
  • Hidden conditions (e.g., subfloor damage, moisture issues) may result in additional charges

A signed agreement/contract is required before work begins. This agreement will outline:

  • Scope of work
  • Pricing and payment schedule
  • Project timeline

5. Payment Terms

  • A deposit is required to secure scheduling and initiate material orders
  • Remaining payments are due based on agreed milestones or project completion
  • Late payments may result in project delays or additional fees

Accepted payment methods may include:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • Credit/Debit Card

6. Scheduling, Cancellation & Rescheduling

  • A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling
  • Late cancellations may be subject to a fee
  • Project timelines may be adjusted due to:
    • Weather conditions
    • Material availability
    • Unforeseen site conditions

We will communicate any changes as early as possible.

7. Site Conditions & Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for:

  • Providing clear access to the work area
  • Removing furniture, valuables, and personal items (unless otherwise agreed)
  • Ensuring utilities (electricity, etc.) are available

K & J Flooring is not responsible for damage to items not removed prior to work.

8. Materials & Product Variations

  • Natural materials (such as hardwood) may vary in:
    • Color
    • Grain
    • Texture

These variations are normal and not considered defects.

  • Materials are often special order and non-returnable

9. Workmanship Warranty

We provide a limited workmanship warranty of 1 year from project completion.

This covers:

  • Installation defects due to workmanship

This does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Water damage or moisture issues
  • Structural or subfloor issues
  • Damage from pets, furniture, or improper maintenance

Manufacturer warranties apply separately to materials.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • K & J Flooring is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid for the services

We are not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing structural issues
  • Hidden conditions not visible during estimate
  • Delays outside of our control
